As Dizzy Bee held the peak-position with their Funk-Rock track “Masterslammer” of the net-parade of the radio station SWR 3, “Das Ding” for weeks and weeks, they called the attention to the guys from Duptribe. After several visits of the Dizzy Bee concerts they agreed on a musical cooperation. Hence, a remix-CD is released with the 4 top songs of the band isochronal to the CD-EP “Duptribe - Dizzy Bee powdered”. The traveller beat of Sasa and Felix is unmistakably brought out and merges the Funk with the typical Duptribe Sound.

Embee is a producer, a dj, an artist. With roots in hiphop, a fruitful history as founder, producer and dj of Looptroop, the most successful Swedish hiphop group ever, collaborations with top artists as well as providing music for movie soundtracks, Embee continues to bend musical borders. Tight beats and compact sound with jazzy, soulful overtones make an Embee production unmistakenably recognizable. His signature style follows him into every which genre he chooses to play with.
“Send Someone Away” is Embee’s flirt with the world of pop. Together with singer-songwriter José González he has created a unique track.
José is himself a busy man with critically acclaimed album “Veneer” as well as collaborations with e.g. Zero 7 and The Knife on his resume. On “Send Someone Away” he puts a layer of soft guitar chords and blissful vocals over Embee’s intense beats. The result is melancholy with a glimmer of hope. A perfect marriage of hiphop and pop.

This is quite something! After nearly 3 years Waldeck releases a brand new 12″. Yes, it’s been quite a long time. Our musical journey begins in the Americas at the beginning of the 1940’s. Tango meets Swing. Delicious cocktails and a live that seems even richer than the thick smoke of Cuban Cigars.
The title song “Make my Day” reminds of the days when Al Capone was making a fortune by selling booze. Singer Joy Malcolm gives us an impressive performance of how she would have sounded, if she were born 60 years earlier. All there is to say: “Turn the radio on, the neighbour’s gone!” Needless to say that the remix by Parov Stelar is just what makes us want to “dance the night away”.
The second piece “Addicted” sneaks in with an intriguing bass line and a healthy dose of tango-feeling. Zeebee is the new voice on this masterpiece. Honestly, can you imagine a more suitable sound-track to your private daydream of a perfectly spent summer in the Americas? Will there be more of this on the upcoming long player? Yes.
The last piece “No one here” is a tribute to H. Bognermayer (former member of the psychedelic formation Ella Craig). Some of you might recognise the main theme of this track.

Few acts manage to start such a commotion with their first 12″ as OUTLINES with Just A Little Lovin. Even though that release was delayed by 2 years due to a complication getting a sample cleared and the track was already brought into circulation by bootleg guerillas in the mean time. After this hit which nobody coudn´t get out of their ears, of course the expectations for the follow up are high.
But with Listen To The Drums the french men IRFANE and JEROME who have been friends since their school days land their next hit together with legendary grafitti artist JAY1. The three of them combine their music and art through self-drawn covers and videos. The track itself consists of hip-hop style samples in combination with a wide afrobeat.
OUTLINES happened to meet up with FAT FREDDYS DROP in Berlin and they soon got the new zeelanders in the studio to record the horns for the song.
JAZZANOVA liked Listen To The Drums so much that they quickly gave it their unmistakable remix treatment. Similar to their interpretation of EDDIE GALES’ Song Of Will for Blue Note the synth lines are in the foreground and give the whole thing a new dynamic which is certainly eclectic enough to appeal to people with open ears.
